A new air conditioner should solve the comfort problem without creating a new one. Equipment that is too large can cool quickly and shut off before it controls humidity or balances temperatures. Equipment that is too small may run continuously on the hottest days. We assess the house and the existing system before selecting capacity and equipment.
Repair Before Replacement
A failed capacitor, contactor, motor, thermostat, drain safety, or another isolated fault does not automatically mean the system is finished. We start with a diagnosis. If the existing equipment has useful life left and the repair makes financial sense, keeping it running may be the better decision.

Start With the Cooling Load and Airflow
We review the home's size and layout, sun exposure, insulation, windows, ductwork, returns, and rooms with recurring comfort problems. Existing equipment is a useful reference, but its label is not a substitute for checking how the house actually performs.
Central AC depends on the furnace or air handler moving the right amount of air. Restricted returns, undersized ducts, or an incompatible blower can limit a new outdoor unit. Those conditions belong in the installation conversation before equipment is sold.
What the Installation Scope Should Address
- Outdoor condenser location, clearances, airflow, and service access.
- Compatible indoor coil, furnace or air handler, and refrigerant requirements.
- Electrical circuit, disconnect, controls, thermostat, and condensate drainage.
- Duct and return-air conditions that affect delivered comfort.
- System commissioning and an explanation of operation and maintenance.

How do you size a central air conditioner?
We consider the home's cooling load, layout, insulation, windows, ductwork, airflow, and existing heating equipment. Repeating the old unit's capacity without checking the house can repeat an old sizing mistake.
Should the indoor coil be replaced with the outdoor unit?
The indoor and outdoor equipment need to be compatible as a rated system. We inspect the existing coil, refrigerant requirements, furnace or air handler, drain, and controls before defining the replacement scope.
Which central AC brand do you install?
Rheem is our primary central air-conditioning line. We recommend equipment based on the house, required capacity, compatible components, and the options available for the installation.
Can you repair my existing AC instead of replacing it?
Yes. We diagnose the existing system first. If a sensible repair can keep it operating reliably, we will explain that option before recommending replacement.
