Residential Cooling
AC repair, replacement, and tune-ups for Toronto homes.
Whether your central system is short-cycling, your condenser will not start, or you are weighing a ductless install for a brick house, we will give you a straight answer.
Central Air Conditioning
Most Toronto homes built after the 1960s already have ducts, which makes a properly sized central AC the most cost-effective way to cool the whole house. For new installs we lead with Rheem, our primary central AC line, and we service every major brand — Carrier, Lennox, Trane, Goodman, York, Daikin, and others. If your existing unit is on its last legs, we will price out matched-system replacements (condenser plus indoor coil) instead of patching what is already failing.
Most no-cool calls come down to a small list of issues: a dirty condenser coil starving the system of airflow, a tripped float switch from a clogged condensate line, a failed run capacitor on the outdoor fan, low refrigerant from a small leak, or a thermostat wired wrong after a renovation. We diagnose first, quote second, and explain the trade-offs before any repair over a few hundred dollars.
When repair stops making sense
A 15-year-old R-22 system with a refrigerant leak is usually a replacement, not a repair — R-22 is no longer manufactured, and the cost to top up a leaky system gets worse every season. If your system is newer or the issue is isolated (capacitor, contactor, fan motor, thermostat), we fix it and you keep your money. We will tell you which side of that line you are on.
Cooling for homes without ductwork
If your home has hydronic heating with radiators (and no ducts), cooling means a mini-split. Ductless systems are quiet, efficient, and avoid the renovation cost of adding ductwork to a finished home.
